As an Active Support Unit we have recently given support to two events.
At Hereford and Worcester's County Camp we helped Beavers, Cubs and Scouts to start working on the Faith Badges.
The following weekend saw us at Gilwell 24. Here we tried to fold an origami dove or design a stained glass window, remembering that the original purpose of those windows was to tell a story at a time when the majority of the population was illiterate.
At both events the young people were very polite and a pleasure to work with.
We were fortunate at Shire Jam (Hereford and Worcester's Camp) to be able to photograph one happy Beaver and her Leader. Mum was on site and kindly and readily gave her permission to use this photograph.
The Gilwell Reunion will be 6th to 8th September 2019 and will celebrate 100 years of Gilwell Park being the spiritual home of Scouting. Regrettably we will not be able to run a stall this year, but do enjoy the rest of this historical event.
